I am not very good with the computer, can I do this?

Absolutely! We have worked very hard to make sure building and promoting your own portfolio website is as easy as possible. If you can save a jpeg and type a letter, then you have all the necessary skills. But if you do get stuck, you can always call or email us for friendly help and answers to any question.

How long does it take to set up my portfolio website?

Rome wasn't built in a day but your website can be! Most of our members usually have a good indication of where their website is heading within an hour or two. We have included many time-saving tools such as our video tutorials, bulk image uploads, automatic image thumbnailing and automatic watermarking to get you up and running faster than you might think. Call us for a free orientation session to help get you going even faster.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes. Upon purchasing your website, we will email you detailed instructions on how to point your domain name to your new website on our servers. The process is very simple but if you prefer, you may call us and we will walk you through the process over the phone. Once you make the necessary DNS changes, your domain will take about 12-24 hours to redirect to your new online portfolio website.

If BigBlackBag purchases the domain for me, who owns it?
And what if I want it sometime in the future?

Technically we own the domain name. However, as our contract clearly states, we will gladly transfer the domain to your ownership at any time whether you leave our service or not. If we transfer the domain, you are responsible for paying the domain registrar's fees – usually the annual cost of the domain. We are not interested in owning anybody's domain name. We simply purchase the domain on your behalf as part of our commitment to making your experience with us as easy as possible. You are welcome to purchase your domain ahead of time if you are still concerned.

How long does it take for my site to show up in the search engines?
And what ranking will I get?

We submit your website to all the major search engines for free! Sites can take up to 12 weeks to get indexed. Every BigBlackBag online portfolio website comes with all the tools necessary to make your website as visible as possible to the search engines, however we cannot guarantee what keywords will result in a search match or the ranking of your site. Be wary of those that promise otherwise. It is likely that you will achieve good results if you are somewhat prepared. Call us for helpful advice on this topic.

Do you or will you offer any more fonts choices?

Currently we offer 11 fonts which you may mix 'n match throughout your website. These are the only 11 web-safe fonts that exist, ensuring that everyone, on any system sees the same thing you do. Fonts must reside on the viewer's computer, so for this reason the choices are rather limited.

How big should my images be?

Our system will resize large files automatically but typically you do not need to upload images larger than 1150 pixels wide by 585 pixels tall at 72 dpi. If you choose the zoom feature, however, our system will keep the original uploaded file and display it when the zoom feature is clicked by your viewer. So be careful here as you could upload files that are too big and use too much disk space. We recommend not exceeding 2500 pixels square.

Can I use your templates but host my website elsewhere?

No this is not possible. We use a proprietary database and file system to run your website, this includes making updates in real-time, keeping track of shopping cart orders and dynamically resizing and watermarking your images. These types of features are generally not available in regular web hosting packages. Nonetheless, hosting is included in the prices we advertise which are quite competitive with standard hosting packages.

After 5 years and over 3000 clients strong, a completely redesigned BigBlackBag.com Version 2 (V2) was launched on October 1st, 2009 which included new developments and refinements to ensure another long span of continued growth.

Terms Of Service

DEFINITIONS

BBB - BigBlackBag.com and its owners, shareholders, affiliates, partners, employees, successors, and assigns.

You(r) - You or any company, person, or organization you represent.

Media - Any Image, Film, Video, Illustration, Animation, Audio, Text or any other item.

Referral - Any person, organization or company that You refer to BBB who successfully registers and pays in full and indicates to BBB that You referred them.

Web Site - Any electronic files contained on any of BBB's publicly available servers and accessed via the Internet under any URL (An Internet World Wide Web address) hosted by BBB.

THIS IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND BBB. BY PRESSING THE BUTTON LABELED "REGISTER" OR "BUY NOW" ON THE BBB WEB PAGE YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ THE TERMS OF AGREEMENT AND ACKNOWLEDGE TO BE BOUND BY THE THEM. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT PROCEED. IF YOU ARE ENTERING INTO THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF YOUR EMPLOYER OR PEOPLE THAT YOU REPRESENT, THE RIGHTS AND RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS RECITED HEREIN APPLY TO YOUR EMPLOYER, OR THE PEOPLE THAT YOU REPRESENT, AS WELL AS TO YOU AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR EMPLOYER OR THE PEOPLE THAT YOU REPRESENT. SHOULD YOU CEASE WORKING FOR YOUR EMPLOYER OR WITH THE PEOPLE THAT YOU REPRESENT, YOUR EMPLOYER OR THE PEOPLE THAT YOU REPRESENT WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE UNDER THIS AGREEMENT.

1. WEB SITES
A. You agree that BBB can suspend, cancel, or remove any part of, Your Web Site at any time if You do not abide by the provisions within this agreement. And furthermore, You agree that BBB is not responsible for compensating You on any remaining time that You may have paid for should this happen.

B. BBB agrees to take all reasonable efforts to keep technical difficulties to a minimum, however You agree that BBB is not responsible for compensating You in any way for technical difficulties, errors, omissions or other problems that may result in Your Web Site, Email or any product or service BBB provides being unavailable, off-line or seemingly dysfunctional. Furthermore, You agree to NOT hold BBB responsible for any financial losses or incurred damages by You or Your customers that may arise from using any of BBB's products or services.

C. BBB agrees to refund any payments it receives with the following exceptions:
i) The set-up fee is non-refundable.
ii ) If You are paying monthly, any monthly payment received is non-refundable.
iii) Any payments that are older than 30 days are non-refundable.

D. You agree that all information You present and all Media You display in Your Web Site is Your own responsibility and that BBB is not responsible for it in any capacity, including but not limited to Media that infringes on copyrights, model rights or property owners' rights. You further agree to compensate BBB for any and all legal, court and damages fees that BBB may have to pay as a result of displaying any Media that appears in Your Web Site.

E. You agree to not display any pornographic, libel or slanderous Media in Your Web Site.

F. You agree that BBB is not responsible for, nor guarantees, that any other technology, services, plug-ins or software will work with BBB websites services. Furthermore, should You use any other technology, service, plug-in or software in combination with the services and software provided by BBB and it is determined that these break, slow down, compromise security or otherwise disrupt BBB's service offerings, You agree that BBB can remove or have You remove said technology, service, plug-in or software as soon as BBB deems necessary.

2. DOMAIN NAMES
A. You agree that any domain name purchased on Your behalf will be purchased in BBB's name but You will be entitled to its ownership at any time under the following conditions:
i) Your account is in good standing.
ii) You request your domain at least 30 days prior to your account expiring.
iii) You agree to take ownership of the domain within 14 days of requesting to do so. If You do not take ownership of the domain name within that time frame, any fees BBB incurs due to a domain name auto renewal will be incurred by You.
iiii) You agree to pay the registrar's fee when making the transfer.

B. If BBB purchased your domain for You and if You renew your account later than 14 days after Your subscription has expired, You agree that You will pay BBB $75.00 to remove Your domain from its "redemption" status with our domain registrar.

C. If BBB purchased a domain name on Your behalf, You agree to notify BBB of your intent to not renew Your subscription at least 14 days prior to your subscription ending date so BBB has enough time to stop the domain from auto-renewing. Should you fail to notify BBB within this time frame, You agree to pay BBB $12 to reimburse BBB for the cost of renewing the domain.

D. You agree to pay BBB a one-time $25 fee for any additional domain name changes that BBB makes at Your request after Your initial account has been set-up, this includes adding additional domain names, domain forwarding, domain redirecting or deleting a domain name. This does not include the cost to purchase a new domain on Your behalf.

3. EMAIL
A. You agree to never send unsolicited email using BBB's system or services. You also agree to respect any recipient's request to not receive emails from You. Furthermore You agree that BBB can suspend Your email privileges or Website at anytime without compensation if BBB determines that You are abusing BBB's email system or services.

4. AGREEMENT
A. BBB has the right to alter this agreement at anytime so long as You have been notified within 1 day of doing so. You will continue to act under the old agreement for a period of 15 days. If You do not make objections to the new agreement in writing or by email within 15 days from the date of notification, Your silence will be an indication that You have accepted to act under the new agreement.
